Bringing good music to weddings since 2010

FAQ

DO YOU TRAVEL?

We LOVE to travel and have smashed weddings from Scotland to Sri Lanka, Ireland to Italy, Manchester to Marrakech (and lots of places in between). We’d just need you to pay for accommodation and cover the travel costs. Whether you’re looking for a London Wedding DJ, a UK Wedding DJ or a Destination Wedding DJ, we’ve got you covered!

WHERE CAN I FIND YOUR PRICES?

We have different rates depending on where and when an event is taking place. Drop us an email to info@weddingsmashers.com with all your event details and we can send you a quote.

WHAT PACKAGES DO YOU OFFER?

We have one package ‘THE SMASH PACK’ which includes all the basics needed for a great party. We also have some Jazzy extras that can be added to the package.

For weddings and events further afield, we recommend that you hire equipment from a local supplier. This can be discussed with our team in more detail.

DO YOU ONLY PLAY WEDDINGS?

Absolutely not! We play all sorts of events from birthdays to corporate parties, Xmas shindigs to Bar-Mitzvahs. Check our homepage where we’ve listed some of the brands we’ve entertained (everyone from Warner Music to Google, MTV and The Old Vic Theatre!).

CAN WE CHOOSE OUR OWN MUSIC?

You certainly can! You can have as much or as little input as you wish, it’s your wedding! Our DJs can play anything from Rock n Roll to Northern Soul, Dad Rock to Mum Disco. Hip-Hop to Yacht Rock, Top 40 hits, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and 00’s Pop to House, D&B, Afro-Beat, Garage & Grime; if you can name it, hum it or dance to it, we can play it.

HOW DO YOU CHOOSE OUR DJ?

We’d ask you to fill in a music request form so that we have a greater understanding about the music you love (and hate!). We’d then select the DJ that best suits to your tastes and arrange a time for you to discuss all-things-music with them ahead of the big day.

DO YOU PLAY MUSIC FROM OTHER CULTURES?

100%! We’ve played many weddings from a multitude of cultures and welcome couples from every background. We love discovering music from all over the world and our DJs will happily mix any specified songs.

DO YOU OFFER LIVE MUSICIANS?

You can create a ‘DJ Live’ experience by adding one, two or three of our fantastic musicians to accompany the DJ set. We have Saxophonists, Percussionists, Violinists & Horns available.

We also have a list of bands we love to work with. Get in touch for more details.

Looking for something extra special? We can’t promise Rihanna but we do have an awesome selection of Headline Acts who have rocked our parties since 2010!

DO YOU REQUIRE A DEPOSIT?

Yes, we have a contract and require a reservation fee of 1/3 of the total to reserve our services.

DO WE NEED TO FEED THE DJ?

Yes, your DJ will require a hot meal before the set starts and suitable refreshments throughout the night. Your DJ is responsible for bringing the ENERGY to your party, so fuel is needed for the fire!

DOES THE DJ NEED TO TAKE BREAKS?

No, our DJs can play up to 5 hours straight without taking a break.

IS THE SET UP TIME PART OF THE DJ SET TIME?

No, the set up time happens before the DJ set and it takes approximately 1 hour.

WHEN DO YOU SET UP?

Our team can setup whenever works best for you. We recommend setup and sound-check happens in the AM before guests arrive but we’re equally happy to do this an hour before the set is due to start.

DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE?

We have Public Liability cover for up to £10 million. We also have PAT test certificates for our equipment.

HOW MUCH POWER IS REQUIRED FOR YOUR EQUIPMENT?

Here’s what you need to know if you’re having a marquee wedding with a generator.

Small set up (Speech Package): 1x 13amp sockets, Power drain: 2000w/8 amps

Medium set up (The Smash Pack): 2x 13amp sockets, Power drain: 4500w/19 amps

Large set up (The Smash Pack + Large Subwoofers): 3x 13amp sockets, Power drain: 7500w/32 amps

We require a separate power supply that isn’t supplying power for fridges, ovens, beer pumps, chillers etc as it interferes with sound quality.

There are 2 ways of measuring power; sound wattage and power wattage! We’re talking POWER wattage here.
